Paddy Tipping comments on primary school merger

Once again the 'Hucknall Today', that stalwart source of Paddy Tipping related news, features the Sherwood MP. The article covers the merger of Whyburn and Spring Street, two Hucknall primary schools.

Paddy sums up, carefully avoiding coming down on one side or the other:

"The vote reflects what a difficult decision it was.
"People want the best possible education for their children but the scheme has raised concerns about traffic problems on Roberts Lane and St Patrick's Road, which are close to the Whyburn site. It is a delicate balance.
"I know local people will be disappointed with the decision. But one improvement from the original proposal is that ground levels will not be increased on part of the site, which means the view for residents of Greenwood Vale will not be as bad as it might have been.
"The extra traffic the proposal will bring is to be monitored and the Whyburn school travel plan will be revised."

A fellow resident of Sherwood. Excellent website. Shame about the twits posting adverts in the responses but I enjoyed reading these articles. Nice to see someone with time and motivation to keep our MPs on their toes, particularly on the school issue and even more given Neo Labour's promises to reduce class sizes then perform a complete U-turn and close down schools across the county to sell off land at a profit and run class sizes up to maximum capacity. Bliar is a true Thatcherite revolutionary. Not quite sure how to classify Mr Tipping yet.
